“When we come together, we can create incredible change.”

UGG International Women's Day Latham Thomas

#POWEREDBYHER celebrates International Women’s Day and women empowering women. One who inspires us and so many others is Latham Thomas, also known as Glow Maven. She’s the founder of Mama Glow, a premiere doula and maternity lifestyle brand in New York City. In this UGG interview, she passes on the power – sharing her story of reclamation, rebirth, and transformation.

Introduce yourself, what you do, and where you call home.

I’m Latham Thomas, founder of Mama Glow. I live in Brooklyn, New York City. I’m a mother and a female founder.

What motivates you and your work?

I’m inspired, moved, and motivated every single day to make an impact in the birth space – to really reclaim reproductive justice for all people in this county, to reduce the birth disparities that we see plaguing the Black community, and to empower us to reclaim birth for ourselves.

What does International Women's Day mean to you, and how does it FEEL to sit alongside inspiring women on a day such as this for the UGG brand?

I feel moved by all that everyone is doing to make impact. Each of us has an incredible gift that we can offer up to the world, and when we come together, we can create incredible change. I’m inspired by Meena Harris, who is a dear friend, and someone who has constantly used her voice to speak to change and to make a difference in the world, to advance movements, and to center social justice. That’s really important to me. I'm so thankful to be in this campaign with other people who are really leading the charge in their own way and in their own spaces. And thank you, UGG, for honoring and lifting all of us in our complexity, in our strength, and in our vulnerability, as we chart a course for the future, for future leaders to make a better world.
